MDHS announces additional benefits for August
Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, households currently receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will be eligible for a supplemental benefit for August 2020. Similar benefits were provided for certified SNAP households for the previous months. SNAP households that have been certified based on meeting income and resource requirements are eligible to receive the supplement benefits. These households will receive benefit supplements up to the maximum benefit amount, based on household size. For example, the maximum benefit for a 2-person household is $355. Mississippi Low-Income Child Care Initiative offers working single moms hope for the future
(Jackson, Miss.) – Low-income, working, single mothers have a resource to help them move from a state of crisis to a state of self-sufficiency through the Mississippi Low-Income Child Care Initiative (MLICCI) funded in part through a TANF grant provided by the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS). The Mississippi Low-Income Child-Care Initiative serves as a technical assistance resource to childcare providers of low-income, working, single moms. MLICCI administers the Employment Equity for Single Moms (EESM) program, a statewide workforce project targeting single moms, connecting them to Job Search Training, Basic Education, Vocational Training and Job Retention activities. Refill Café offers opportunities, hope to young adults in metro area
(Jackson, Miss.) – Young adults in the metro area can be filled with hope for a bright future, thanks to a program funded in part through a grant provided by the Mississippi Department of Human Services. MDHS partners with community colleges to offer workforce training for SNAP recipients
(Jackson, Miss.) – Mississippians have a new pathway to achieve their career goals through a partnership between the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) and Mississippi community colleges. MDHS issues Request For Proposals (RFP) to award up to $36 million in TANF services across Mississippi
