MDHS announces additional benefits for July

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, households currently receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will be eligible for a supplemental benefit for July 2021.  Similar benefits were provided for certified SNAP households for the previous months.  SNAP households that have been certified based on meeting income and resource requirements are eligible to receive the supplement benefits.  These households will receive benefit supplements up to the maximum benefit amount, based on household size.  For example, the maximum benefit for a 2-person household is $355.  A 2-person household authorized to receive $200 for the month will receive an additional $155, the total maximum [...]

Office lobbies will again be open to the public using COVID-19 guidelines  (Jackson, Miss.) – The Mississippi Department of Human Services will reopen Economic Assistance County Office locations to the public on Thursday, July 1, 2021. The best way to reach county offices remains by email and phone. Those who can continue using this method are encouraged to do so. MDHS recovers $2,652,679. 77 in misallocated funds from October 2020 – May 2021

(Jackson, Miss.) – The Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) Benefit Recovery Unit reported more than $2.5 million in taxpayer dollars was recouped over the past quarter after previous investigations showed public funds were defrauded or misused. USDA approves Mississippi to receive a second round of Pandemic-EBT benefits

The Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) and Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) to operate Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT), which provides assistance to families of children eligible for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) whose school’s predominant learning mode was either virtual or hybrid.
