FNS has approved the issuance of emergency supplement benefits for SNAP recipients for March and April 2020.

In response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) has approved the issuance of emergency supplement benefits for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients for March and April 2020. SNAP households will receive an emergency benefit in March and April that, combined with the benefit amount the household is certified to receive, will equal the maximum benefit for the household, based on its size.   March emergency supplements for ongoing SNAP households will be issued March 29.  March 2020 cases approved after March 29 will receive the emergency benefit amount two days after the case is [...]

All county offices have had the lobbies closed by the Board of Supervisors until further notice. Services will continue to be provided to clients online or calling the offices directly. Due to higher call volume during this time, please be patient when trying to contact your county office. You may also reach them through email. Child Support Offices Closing to Public

Due to COVID-19 concerns, ALL Mississippi child support offices will be closed to the public immediately. MDHS will continue processing payments as normal. If you have received a notice requesting you to visit the office, to attend court, or if you have other immediate concerns about your case, please contact the customer service center at 1-877-882-4916 or you may submit common requests or inquiries through Gen on the MDHS website at

FNS has extended the period for replacement benefits.

The Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) has approved a waiver extending the 10-day period for certain Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) households in Mississippi to request replacement benefits. The waiver has been granted due to the severe weather and historic flooding in the State during February 2020. SNAP households in the following counties who suffered food loss as the result of February’s severe weather may request benefit replacements through March 11, 2020: Attala, Carroll, Chickasaw, Claiborne, Clay, Copiah, Greene, Grenada, Hinds, Holmes, Humphreys, Leake, Leflore, Madison, Quitman, Rankin, Warren, Washington, Wilkinson, and Yazoo.

MDHS executive chosen for prestigious leadership class

(Jackson, Miss.) – MDHS Inspector General/Deputy Executive Director Hadley Gable-Eisenberger, Esq. has been selected as one of forty-eight standout Mississippians to take part in the 2020 Class of MEC’s Leadership Mississippi. Upon completion, Eisenberger will join more than 1,300 alumni active in Mississippi business and politics.
