Grant Opportunities

Grants for organizations strengthening Mississippi families.

We have released multiple funding opportunities for non-profit organizations and non-federal government entities (i.e. state government, local school districts, etc.).

Some of the funding opportunities are related to Job Training & Education, Parent Supports, Afterschool & Summer Programs, Child Care Transportation, and Other Support Services.

On May 8th, 2025, MDHS held an interest call so that those who may be interested in responding to one of these recently released Requests for Proposals (RFPs) can ask questions, learn more about the RFP process, and get an understanding of the types of services MDHS is seeking to fund.


Summaries of two released Requests for Proposal (RFPs):

Afterschool Program Activities (APA), Family Dynamics (FDP), and Workforce Training and Education Programs (WTEP)

Request for Proposal seeking non-profit organizations and non-federal government entities (i.e., state government, local school districts) to implement:

  • afterschool and summer program activities for children,
  • programs focusing on improving family stability and functioning by training, encouraging, and assisting parents in developing needed skills. Supports may include financial literacy, marriage and family counseling, etc. and/or
  • education and workforce training programs that serve low-income parents.

Workforce Support Services

Request for Proposal seeking non-profit organizations and non-federal government entities (i.e., state government, local school districts) to provide support services to low-income parents which may include

  • transportation;
  • childcare;
  • work-related clothing, tools, and supplies;
  • or other services designed to help low-income parents gain or maintain employment
