Credentialed Early Childhood director

Information is available for early childhood educators seeking to enhance their expertise and credentials to qualify as a credentialed Early Childhood director.

Earning Your Credential Will:

  • Offer a pathway to becoming a qualified Director of a licensed child care center.
  • Assist in developing the knowledge and skills required to deliver the highest quality care for children and families.
  • Provide Credentialed Director (C.D.) recognition, positioning you as a leader and role model in the Early Childhood community.
  • Show your proficiency in center management, child care experience, and education for young children aged 0-12 years.
  • You must Renew your credential every 4 years.

Registration will open in late Fall

NOTE: Attendance is required on both dates each month for all nine modules to complete the course. Registration depends on available space and acceptance into the program. Refer to Lift-ED for registration and to the Director’s mailbox for additional information.

director’s Credential Renewal

You must renew your credential every 4 years.

Renewal Eligibility:

  • Previously completed the MS Director’s Credential (9-Module) course
  • Credential has expired or will expire this year.
  • Have a copy of your original credential certificate or most recent renewal certificate

Renewal is offered twice per year in the Spring and the Fall in locations throughout the state.
